A true crime blog

Degrees of Monstrosity

Over on Medium, I write extensively about compelling cases regarding female killers and offenders and their criminal psychology. I keep tabs on fugitives, post updates about current cases, and ruminate on cases past that still intrigue.

In my criminal psychology series, we venture into the darkest minds of women, from mothers who kill, to daughters who retaliate, to scorned lovers, black widows, killer nurses, and serial killers. I go on side rants that prove to be insightful, answer questions, post book reviews of true crime books, and the comment sections are open for discussion.

When a case wraps up at trial, I’ll do what I call a “Full Case Write Up”. I’ll go into details that my shorter updates may have missed, delve into the history of the people involved, and generally explore the case and trial in-depth to sum up the shorter updates, especially if I caught wind of it near the end of the trial.

What started as a place to write about my research for “Beyond Dark” has become its own true crime entity with my publication "Degrees of Monstrosity". So, come along and join me as we step into the shadows of the women malicious, altruistic, psychotic, and tragic enough to kill. Because trust me, they come in all forms.

Fatal Maternity

"Fatal Maternity" is a 9-part criminal psychology series that delves into the tragedies and horrors of mothers who commit filicide - murdering their own children. It is a rollercoaster that explores the mentally ill, the cruel, the sadistic, and stigmas attached to them after the fact, with an additional discussion about the use of infanticide laws.

Dangerous Daughters

"Dangerous Daughters" flips the previous series on its head. The murder of a parent is classified as parricide. Here, we explore what happens when daughters kill their parents. What makes them snap? How does one's life come to such a powder keg moment she takes the life of those meant to be her caregivers from birth?
