Preptober Day 7
Week One Check In
As always, I am behind! This past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving. Between becoming single again on Friday night, girls’ night at the bar Saturday night, cooking family dinner on Sunday with a vodka hangover, and then a Friendsgiving celebration on Monday, the weekend slipped away from me between food and booze.
However, for the week one check in, I am glad to announce that I at least have a starting point for the “Edge of Glory” sequel. I have a few ideas on my handy index cards already posted, waiting their turn to be written.
For prepping, what I have left is:
Three remaining chapters on Book One
Update character profiles
List main plot points to the sequel
List plots carrying over from Book One.
I don’t have a massive amount of prepping left, thank goodness. It really feels like this month is already flying by and I know November will be here before we know it. NaNoWriMo is usually why I wake up December 1 to realize I still have ALL my Christmas shopping to do! That’s how quickly these three months seem to go.
That being said, onwards…
Day 8
Writing Rituals
I don’t do much in the way of writing rituals. I’m content to write once I am in favourite PJs, have coffee or tea and a snack, my “Edge of Glory” playlist queued up in Spotify, with my notebook nearby. I keep it simple and focus on writing. I also ensure my fur babies are fed and watered to minimize distractions.
Day 9
Where You Write
My living room, nested on my comfy couch with my favourite fuzzy unicorn blanket, near my stereo. It’s my beloved spot where I’m surrounded by all my books and my dog naps nearby. I can watch the world outside my window.
Did I mention my living room library is Harry Potter themed? JK Rowling is my literary hero so I keep her energy around me in order to remain inspired.
